Harvesting & Processing

From Sea to Packing
– with Precision and Care

Harvesting is more than the final step – it’s a critical part of delivering premium quality salmon. At Måsøval, we handle harvesting and processing in-house, ensuring full control over fish welfare, handling routines, and final product quality.

Our salmon is harvested and packed at TL52, our strategically located harvesting facility at Ulvøya, Hitra – only a short distance from the majority of our sea sites. This minimises stress and handling time, allowing us to prioritise fish welfare and maintain product integrity throughout the process.

TL52 has the capacity to handle up to 40,000 tonnes of salmon per shift, and is one of few facilities in Norway operating under an approved discharge permit in accordance with the EU Industrial Emissions Directive (IED, formerly IPPC). The facility is equipped with modern technology and routines that support consistent high quality, food safety, and documentation.

In-house Control – Every Step of the Way

We manage farming, harvesting, processing and logistics as part of one continuous value chain. That means stronger coordination, lower risk, and faster response – with the flexibility to adapt harvesting plans to biology, weather, or customer needs without compromising quality.

Our teams at sea and on land work closely together to ensure gentle handling, clean cuts, and efficient packing – all in line with industry standards and certification requirements. Whether packed as HOG or customised to specification, our goal is always the same: freshness, integrity, and confidence in every box.
