Biological control
We monitor key biological indicators such as sea lice levels, disease status and environmental conditions to secure optimal growth and robustness. Rapid, steady growth is a strong indicator of good welfare, and an important part of our biology‑driven production model.
Stronger smolt, better outcomes
Our smolt facilities operate under controlled and stable conditions designed to produce robust smolt that can handle the challenges of the sea phase. Technical upgrades, improved vaccination strategies and collaboration with suppliers ensure we deliver healthy smolt adapted to both current needs and future requirements.
Responsible lice management
We balance biological control using cleaner fish with innovative technology such as freshwater treatment, mechanical delousing and lice skirts. We recognise that cleaner fish also have welfare needs, and we work continuously to improve their conditions and to reduce the total use of cleaner fish over time.
How we work — every day
Every Tuesday morning — without exceptions — operational teams and management meet for our interdisciplinary biology meeting. Whether it is Christmas Eve, 17 May or a regular weekday, we gather to review key indicators, solve biological challenges and ensure aligned, proactive management.
We invest in professional development and encourage employees to obtain vocational certificates in aquaculture. Strong expertise builds safe operations, better biology and confidence in everyday work — even when it requires stepping away from a Christmas breakfast.
