Salmon Tacos

Brage Madsvåg is one of our many fish farmers who ensures that our salmon thrive and grow as they should. He insists that salmon tacos taste better than almost anything else, and here is his favorite recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lime
  • 4-5 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 0.5 deciliters olive oil
  • 600 g Måsøval skinless salmon
  • 4 tortilla wraps
  • 2 avocados, salad mix
  • 5-6 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • finely chopped cilantro
  • 2 dl light sour cream

Brage’s Method:

Wash and zest the lime. Add the lime juice and grated zest to a bowl. Mix together the taco seasoning, oil, lime juice, and lime zest to form a marinade.

Cut the salmon lengthwise into strips 1-2 centimeters wide and approximately 5 cm long. Place the fish strips in a small bag with the marinade and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Halve the avocados. Remove the pits and scoop out the avocado flesh with a spoon. Place in a bowl and squeeze lime juice over it. Mash together and stir in garlic, cilantro, and sour cream. Season with chili, salt, and pepper to taste.

Fill tortillas with salad, guacamole, salmon, sour cream, and any other toppings you like. Fish tortillas can be pan-fried or grilled. Brage prefers to grill the tortilla in the oven on high heat for 2-3 minutes, as this gives it an extra crispy crust.

If you prefer to make a more traditional taco, simply pan-fry or grill the salmon on high heat for 2-3 minutes per side. Quickly warm the tortilla wraps in the oven, then everyone can fill them with their desired toppings such as salad, tomato, guacamole, fresh cilantro, and salmon. Feel free to top with sour cream. Enjoy your meal.
