In a time characterized by change and complexity, we have chosen to focus even more on what we are already good at, on biology’s terms. We do this to develop a more robust and sustainable MÃ¥søval – MÃ¥søval shall be an actor that produces food on biology’s terms, in harmony with our surroundings, in line with future requirements.

The measures we have taken over time are not about creating quick gains, but about laying the foundation for long-term, responsible value creation. This means building systems, structure, and learning into the way we work – and ensuring that our organization is positioned to handle both risks and opportunities in a rapidly changing industry.

Measures for Control and Profitability

Biology governs most things, and it can take time before improvement measures are reflected in operational results. In aquaculture, we know that certain adjustments, such as changes in feed or vaccination programs, can take 12-15 months before we see effects.

Other measures yield faster results, while also making Måsøval better equipped for the future:

• Fully integrated value chain provides increased control and collaboration.
• New operational roles for process improvement in smolt and sea phase.
• More gentle handling and strengthened logistics through the wellboat Njord Kya.
• Start-up of fillet production and third-party processing at TL52.
• New quality system, OptiMa.

OptiMa: A Tool with Ownership and Purpose

OptiMa is our new quality system launching in September. It has been developed in close collaboration with employees and builds on real experiences, willingness to improve, and engagement throughout the entire company.

The name was chosen by the organization itself, and it says something about the ambition: an optimal Måsøval. Learning put into system, distribution of responsibility, and good flow in work processes. OptiMa is not a set of rules, but our new framework for risk management, deviation follow-up, and continuous improvement.

Acting Now – To Stand Stronger in the Future

Several of the measures we have taken, and plan going forward, draw on experience and insight from previous quarters. At the same time, it’s about being proactive and withstanding fluctuations. About producing food in a responsible manner, and developing operations that are both solid and adaptable.
